How do I read the MPE v.u.f version numbers on an HP3000
Modern MPE/iX releases report two version numbers (type :SHOWME to see this information)
RELEASE: C.nn.nn and USER VERSION: C.nn.nn
"RELEASE" is the HP issued operating system version. "USER VERSION" defaults to the same value, but can be site-modified via the SYSGEN utility.
Production MPE/iX releases are indicated by a C.nn.nn sequence
Beta release versions of the operating system sometimes utilize a X.nn.nn sequence
C.60.nn indicates MPE/iX version 6.0
C.65.nn indicates MPE/iX version 6.5
C.70.nn indicates MPE/iX version 7.0
C.75.nn indicates MPE/iX version 7.5
X.75.nn would indicate a beta release of the MPE/iX 7.5 operating system
