HP3000 E-Mail Configuration: Disabling Nameserver client

To make sure your HP 3000 is NOT set up to try and resolve DNS (nameserver) queries, look for the file:

RESLVCNF.NET.SYS

and

/etc/resolv.conf  (typically a symbolic link to RESLVCNF.NET.SYS)

To purge RESLVCNF, simply :PURGE RESLVCNF.NET.SYS from an MPE logon with sufficient capability.

To delete the /etc/resolv.conf file, you can :PURGELINK /etc/resolv.conf (again while logged on an MPE user.accout with sufficient capability).

Note, this only applies to MPE/iX systems running MPE/iX 4.0 or later.
